Tingklik Bali Virtual

The Tingklik is a traditional Balinese musical instrument.

Tingklik is a traditional Balinese bamboo musical instrument constructed from bamboo blades. It is played by striking these blades with a mallet known as a "tingklik pelvis." The Gamelan ensemble features two types of Tingklik: Tingklik Polos and Tingklik Sangsih. A standard (polos) tingklik comprises between eleven and twenty-five bamboo blades, with the quantity dependent on the musical scale employed. It is performed with both hands: the right hand typically plays the kotekan (melody), while the left hand provides the bun (rhythm). On occasion, the right hand may play the sangsih part and the left hand the polos part.
