Warriors: Abyss is a Roguelite Take on the Warriors Franchise, Out Today
Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo unleashes another musou title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the genre. This roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors franchise, is available now.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to build a squad and battle hordes of enemies using an isometric perspective, reminiscent of Diablo and Hades. The gameplay involves assembling a team to confront the forces of "hell," battling demonic foes. The trailer highlighted characters from various Warriors games, including Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Battles utilize up to seven active heroes, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo plans to expand the character roster with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors, followed by further waves of characters. The developer hinted at the possibility of including characters from outside the Warriors series in future updates.
Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. Players seeking the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should purchase the game before March 14, 2025.
