How to Get Trap Tools in Monster Hunter Wilds
Slaying monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds is exhilarating, but to truly master the hunt and gather every valuable monster part for crafting, you'll need to learn the art of trapping. This requires a specific item: Trap Tools. Here's how to acquire them.

While Monster Hunter Wilds doesn't explicitly guide you on trapping or obtaining Trap Tools, seasoned hunters will find the process familiar.
Your primary source for Trap Tools is the Provisions Stockpiler NPC at your Base Camp. Simply talk to him, browse his inventory, and purchase the Trap Tools for 200 Zenny each. Stocking up on these is highly recommended, especially for farming specific monsters or completing your monster capture collection.
Unlike other resources found in the wild, Trap Tools are exclusively available for purchase at the Base Camp.
How to Use Trap Tools
Now that you've acquired your Trap Tools, let's put them to use. Combine them with a Net (using Spiderweb or Ivy) to create a Pitfall Trap, or with a Thunderbug Capacitor to craft a Shock Trap.
Both traps are effective, but remember that certain monsters are immune to specific trap types. For example, a Shock Trap is useless against Rey Dau, a lightning dragon. In such cases, a Pitfall Trap is your best bet.
Also, keep in mind that you can only carry one trap at a time. Strategically use your traps when the monster is weakened for maximum effectiveness.
