Switch 2 Release Date: TBA, but Announcement Coming Soon
Nintendo recently confirmed the Switch 2's existence. A release date remains unannounced, but Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa aims for an announcement before the fiscal year ends on March 31, 2025.
Switch 2 Price: Potentially $349.99 or More
The Switch 2 is expected to cost more than existing Switch models, reflecting rising product prices and enhanced hardware. The original Switch launched at $299.99, while the Nintendo Switch OLED cost $349.99.
Given anticipated improvements, we project a retail price of $349.99 to $399.99.
Switch 2 Specs: PS4/Xbox One-Level Power
The Switch 2 will likely use an Nvidia system-on-a-chip, potentially a next-generation Tegra X1 (as in the current Switch), or possibly Nvidia's T239. This could match the power of the PS4 and Xbox One.
An 8-inch screen is rumored (Omdia analyst Hiroshi Hayase). Sharp Corp. previously confirmed LCD panel supply, but recent reports suggest an OLED display at launch.

The Switch 2's onboard storage is speculated to be around 512GB, a substantial upgrade over the 32GB and 64GB in the original Switch and Switch OLED models, respectively.
Additionally, the Switch 2 could offer substantially improved battery life, exceeding the current model's peak of 9 hours. Various tech outlets report that Nintendo will likely utilize a system-on-a-chip from Nvidia, possibly a next-generation Tegra X1 chip. Alternatively, some suggest the Switch 2 could use Nvidia's T239 system-on-a-chip, potentially matching the power of the PS4 and Xbox One.
The Switch 2 is expected to be a hybrid system, connecting to a television or used portably. Rumors also point to a co-processor chip potentially boosting power and video output when docked and connected to a 4K TV.
