Stellar Blade Revamps Physics for Jiggly Gameplay Improvements
The latest Stellar Blade update introduces several new features to the PS5 exclusive title, including notable "visual improvements" to protagonist Eve's character model, courtesy of developer Shift Up.
Stellar Blade's Enhanced Physics
More Than Just "Visual Improvements"
(c) Stellar Blade on Twitter (X) Shift Up's recent patch includes the permanent addition of the previously limited-time Summer Event Update, offering players the option to toggle it on or off. Further enhancements encompass quality-of-life improvements, new map markers, and a convenient "Ammo Package" item for instant ammo replenishment. However, the most discussed change centers on the updated physics engine and its impact on Eve's appearance.
The update noticeably increases the animation of Eve's bust, resulting in a more pronounced jiggle effect. A comparison of before-and-after GIFs clearly demonstrates this alteration. While Shift Up has never shied away from showcasing Eve's physique, this update amplifies the visual impact.
The physics changes extend beyond Eve's character model, affecting how gear interacts with wind effects, creating a more realistic and dynamic visual experience, described by some fans as "real-time CG."
However, the increased jiggle effect appears most prominent on Eve's chest area.
A more comprehensive physics simulation might also include realistic movement in her hair.
