Sonic the Hedgehog: IDW Charts a Dramatic New Future for the Series – IGN Fan Fest 2025

IDW's long-running Sonic the Hedgehog comic series recently celebrated a major milestone with its 75th issue. Sonic the Hedgehog #75 concluded the epic battle between Team Sonic and the villain Clutch, setting the stage for the ominous "Scattered Pieces" storyline.

"Scattered Pieces" unfolds across Sonic the Hedgehog #76-80. With issue #76 already available, IGN proudly presents an exclusive first look at new art from the penultimate chapter, #79, as part of IGN Fan Fest. A slideshow gallery below showcases the three variant covers for Sonic the Hedgehog #79, alongside previously revealed "Scattered Pieces" covers.

Sonic the Hedgehog #79, written by series veteran Ian Flynn, features interior art and the main cover by Adam Bryce Thomas, with variant covers by Tyler Mcgrath and Nathalie Fourdraine.

The long-running feud between ace sniper Whisper and sinister assassin Mimic reaches a climactic showdown! Only one of these former comrades will walk away!
