How to Skip Cutscenes in Monster Hunter Wilds

Want to skip the cutscenes in Monster Hunter Rise? While Rise's story features surprisingly well-developed characters and an engaging narrative, some hunters just want to get straight to the action. If that's you, here's how to bypass those cinematic moments and dive into the hunt.
Skipping Cutscenes in Monster Hunter Rise
Feeling impatient? Simply hold down the Y key on your keyboard, or the back button on your controller. Hold it for about a second to skip. If you're using a less common control scheme, briefly press a few buttons during a cutscene; the required input will be displayed in the top-right corner of the screen.
You can also pause cutscenes if you want to make sure you don't miss anything important. While many previous Monster Hunter cutscenes felt unnecessary, Rise's cutscenes are largely story-relevant. We only recommend skipping them on subsequent playthroughs.
For those who prefer to revisit the cinematics, you can rewatch them from the in-game menu. This allows you to appreciate the story elements at your own pace, particularly the impressive monster introductions—perfect for capturing some screenshots of your favorite beasts. While this might make the story feel slightly disjointed, the visuals are often worth a second look.
