Where to Find Sam in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)

To achieve the best ending in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, completing specific tasks is crucial, including rescuing Sam. This guide details how to locate and save Sam during the "Reckoning" quest.

Rescuing Sam During "Reckoning"

Near the main quest's conclusion, you discover Sam's captivity at Praguer's Camp, captured by Brabant. Saving him involves infiltration – either stealthily or through force.

A guard's outfit is essential for stealth. You can acquire one by looting chests within the camp or, less subtly, by killing a guard and taking it (remember to hide the body!). Once equipped, explore the camp undetected.

Sam is located in a barn to the left of the camp, beyond the cooking fire. Use the barn's ladder to enter and confront Brabant. You have choices here: killing or sparing Brabant. Sparing him contributes to the best ending.

The Optimal Rescue Strategy

After freeing Sam, don't immediately leave. He mentions von Aulitz, also within the camp. Prioritize dealing with von Aulitz, then securing a horse, before returning for Sam. This order simplifies the escape, as you'll need to carry Sam to the horse.

Von Aulitz is in the main camp area. Your guard outfit allows access without suspicion. You'll find him dying and can choose to grant him a dignified death (best for the best ending), kill him, or leave him. Leaving him to die contributes to the optimal ending.

Finally, retrieve Sam from the barn (a guard might question you; claim you're moving a body). Exit the camp, go right, and find the stables. Choose a horse and escape with Sam, completing a key step towards the game's conclusion.
