RuneGiant Dominates: Clash Royale Deck Triumphs
Quick Links
The Rune Giant is Clash Royale's newest Epic card, unlockable at Jungle Arena (Arena 9). A free Rune Giant is offered in the in-game shop until January 17th, 2025; after this date, it's obtainable only through chests or the shop.
Mastering the Rune Giant requires understanding its strategic value. This guide highlights top-performing Rune Giant decks.
Clash Royale Rune Giant Overview
The Rune Giant, an Epic card, targets enemy towers and defensive structures. At tournament level, it boasts 2803 Hitpoints and medium movement speed, dealing 120 damage to buildings – more than an Ice Golem, but less than a Giant.
Its key strength isn't tanking, but its unique Enchant effect. Upon deployment, it enchants two nearby troops, boosting their damage output on every third hit. This buffing capability makes it exceptionally potent in specific deck combinations.
Costing only four elixir, it's easily cycled without excessive elixir consumption. Fast-attacking troops like the Dart Goblin maximize its effect, while slower attackers benefit strategically.

Unlike the Golem, the Rune Giant isn't a standalone win condition. It excels as a support troop, distracting enemies and absorbing tower damage while your other units attack.
Best Rune Giant Decks in Clash Royale
These decks leverage the Rune Giant's unique abilities:
- Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
- Battle Ram 3M
- Hog EQ Firecracker
Details on each deck follow.
Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
While Goblin Giant decks often feature Sparky, this variant incorporates the Cannon Cart.
| Card Name | Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
| Evo Goblin Giant | 6 |
| Evo Bats | 2 |
| Rage | 2 |
| Arrows | 3 |
| Rune Giant | 4 |
| Lumberjack | 4 |
| Cannon Cart | 5 |
| Elixir Collector | 6 |
This beatdown deck boasts strong defense against various strategies. The Rune Giant buffs the Cannon Cart and Goblin Giant (including its Spear Goblins), maximizing damage output. The Elixir Collector fuels consistent pushes, while Lumberjack and Rage provide additional offensive boosts. However, its lack of air defense (besides Evo Bats) makes it vulnerable to Lava Hound decks. This deck utilizes the Royal Chef Tower Troop.
Battle Ram 3M
This deck reimagines the Three Musketeers, playing similarly to a Pekka Bridge Spam strategy.
| Card Name | Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
| Evo Zap | 2 |
| Evo Battle Ram | 4 |
| Bandit | 3 |
| Royal Ghost | 3 |
| Hunter | 4 |
| Rune Giant | 4 |
| Elixir Collector | 6 |
| Three Musketeers | 9 |
Early game focuses on pressure with Bandit, Royal Ghost, and Evo Battle Ram, building an elixir advantage for the Double Elixir phase. The Three Musketeers are strategically deployed. Defense relies on the Rune Giant and Hunter combo, with Evo Zap supporting Battle Ram pushes. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
Hog EQ Firecracker
A top-tier Hog Rider deck enhanced by the Rune Giant.
| Card Name | Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
| Evo Skeletons | 1 |
| Evo Firecracker | 3 |
| Ice Spirit | 1 |
| The Log | 2 |
| Earthquake | 3 |
| Cannon | 3 |
| Rune Giant | 4 |
| Hog Rider | 4 |
Gameplay mirrors standard Hog EQ Firecracker, replacing Valkyrie or Mighty Miner with the Rune Giant. The Rune Giant's buff significantly amplifies Firecracker's damage, creating a powerful defensive and offensive synergy. Earthquake provides late-game tower damage. Evo Skeletons offer defensive utility. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
The Rune Giant introduces significant strategic depth to Clash Royale. Experiment with these decks and personalize them to find your optimal playstyle.
