A $8,500 Investment (and Counting)

Hajimesyacho, a popular Japanese YouTuber known for diverse content ranging from product reviews to vlogs and challenges, recently shared his monumental achievement on Twitter (X). Since the October 30, 2024 launch of Pokémon TCG Pocket, he's diligently purchased the daily maximum of 720 Poké Gold. This equates to approximately $100 per day, totaling an estimated $8,500 over the 85 days the game has been live. This figure excludes any potential savings from sales events during the launch period and holiday season. His dedication has allowed him to acquire nearly every card from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, as well as limited-time promotional cards.
The latest addition to his collection is a valuable Trainer card, the Pokédex, which allows players to view the top three cards in their deck. This card was a reward given to players globally upon the collective achievement of 40 billion cards collected in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

These limited-edition items are available at participating McDonald's locations while supplies last. Remember, the in-game rewards expire on March 31, 2025, so redeem them promptly!
Trading Feature on the Horizon

On January 17, 2025, Pokémon TCG Pocket revealed details about its upcoming trading feature on Twitter (X). Trading will initially be limited to friends, requiring cards of matching rarity. Cards with 1-4 diamonds and 1-star rarity are eligible, while rarer cards (Special Illustration Rare, Immersive, and Crown Rares) are excluded. A consumable item, similar to Stardust in Pokémon GO, will facilitate trades.

While cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs will be initially available for trading, the team promises to expand the selection based on player feedback. They emphasize their commitment to balancing ease of trading with the enjoyment of collecting. The announcement also hinted at a new booster pack releasing in January, although a specific date remains unannounced.
