Official: Dungeonborne is preparing to shut down

The creators of the PvPvE action game, Dungeonborne—a title inspired by the popular Dark and Darker—have announced the game's closure and the subsequent shutdown of its servers. The project, which lasted less than a year, ultimately failed to maintain a sustainable player base due to low player activity and a lack of substantial updates.
While Dungeonborne remains accessible via its Steam page (accessible only through a direct link), it's no longer discoverable through the platform's search function. Specific reasons for the shutdown haven't been publicly released, but the extremely low player count is clearly a significant factor. Since late 2024, concurrent player numbers rarely exceeded 200; recently, activity dwindled to a mere 10-15 players.
Dungeonborne's servers will be permanently deactivated on May 28th, bringing a definitive end to the game's lifecycle. This marks the unfortunate conclusion of a project that initially generated considerable interest within its genre, but ultimately fell short of realizing its full potential.
