Nintendo's Alarm Clock Expands Retail Reach

Nintendo's quirky alarm clock, Alarmo, is waking up from its limited release! March 2025 marks a wider rollout for this unique device. Read on to discover more about its features and expanded availability.
Nintendo's Alarmo: More Than Just an Alarm Clock

Forget the Switch 2 rumors for a moment; Nintendo's interactive alarm clock, Alarmo, is hitting major retailers in March 2025! This announcement, shared via their Twitter (X) account, means wider access for everyone. Expect to find Alarmo on shelves at Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other participating retailers worldwide.

Best of all, the previous requirement of a Nintendo Online membership is being dropped. Alarmo will be available to all for $99.99 USD. While many celebrate this news, the anticipation for the Switch 2 continues to build, though Nintendo remains silent on that front.
Initial Release: An Instant Hit

Alarmo's popularity was immediately apparent. Just one day after its October 9, 2024 launch, Nintendo suspended sales on its My Nintendo Store in Japan, switching to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers due to overwhelming demand. A similar situation unfolded in New York City, with the retailer selling out and promising updates on restocking.
Alarmo's Engaging Features

Alarmo, launched in 2024, isn't your average alarm clock. It features charming sound effects and visuals from beloved Nintendo franchises like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3. Choose from 42 scenes (with more promised as free updates, including Animal Crossing: New Horizons), and watch your favorite characters gently rouse you from slumber. If you linger too long, a more insistent visitor will appear, increasing the volume until you finally rise and shine! The motion sensor means no fumbling for the snooze button.

Beyond its core function, Alarmo offers hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and sleep pattern tracking. For those sharing a bed with others or pets, the Button Mode is highly recommended. While initially requiring a Nintendo Online subscription, this will no longer be necessary with the expanded release in March 2025.
