NBA 2K25's latest update paves the way for Season 4 (arriving January 10th), delivering significant gameplay enhancements and visual refinements. This major patch introduces detailed shot feedback, refined defensive mechanics, and realism adjustments, alongside numerous stability fixes across various game modes.

The update boasts improved player likenesses, updated court visuals (including corrections to the Los Angeles Clippers court and Emirates NBA Cup court), and updated sponsor patches on several team uniforms. Specific players receiving visual updates include Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, and many others (see full list below).

Key Improvements:

  • Enhanced Realism: "Light Pressure" coverage is now categorized into Weak, Moderate, and Strong bands for more precise shot feedback. Ball-rim interaction has been tweaked for more realistic rebounds. Skill dunks are better protected from unfair disruptions by trailing defenders. The Offensive 3 Seconds rule is now active in 1v1 Proving Grounds.

  • Mode-Specific Fixes: MyCAREER addresses progression issues and prevents skipped NBA Cup games. MyTEAM features visual updates and fixes for saving Favorite Plays and challenge progression. MyNBA, MyNBA Online, and The W see stability improvements, resolving issues like NBA Cup simulations and league contraction. The City and Pro-Am modes also receive performance and stability boosts.

  • General Fixes: The patch resolves a rare hang in Play Now Online, corrects player rankings on leaderboards, and addresses several visual inconsistencies.

GENERAL:

  • Season 4 launches January 10th at 8 AM PT/11 AM ET/4 PM GMT.
  • Fixed a rare hang in Play Now Online when changing lineups.
  • Corrected player ranking sorting on the Play Now Online leaderboard's Friends tab.
  • Corrected logo scale on the Los Angeles Clippers City court.
  • Updated the Emirates NBA Cup court for accuracy.
  • Updated sponsor patches for Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers, and Washington Wizards.
  • Added a Bob Love commemorative patch for the Chicago Bulls.

GAMEPLAY:

  • "Light Pressure" coverage now has three intensity levels (Weak, Moderate, Strong) for more detailed shot feedback.
  • Trailing defenders can no longer unfairly interrupt skill dunks.
  • Ball-rim restitution adjusted for more realistic rebounds.
  • Offensive 3 Seconds rule enabled in 1v1 Proving Grounds and Ante-Up.

CITY / PRO-AM / REC / THEATER / PROVING GROUNDS:

  • Significant performance, stability, and visual improvements in The City.
  • Fixed an issue preventing correct REP multiplier application after transitioning from MyTEAM to The City.
  • Alternate uniforms now have a chance to be selected for away teams in Pro-Am.
  • Resolved a delay when changing clothing before Pro-Am 5v5 shootarounds.

MyCAREER / QUESTS / PROGRESSION:

  • Numerous fixes and adjustments to improve quest experience and progression.
  • Fixed an issue preventing the Maximum Overdrive badge slot from unlocking.
  • Resolved an issue causing skipped dynamically scheduled NBA Cup games during simulation.

MyTEAM:

  • Fixed an issue where Breakout games weren't counted.
  • Updated Breakout mini-game award icon visuals.
  • Fixed an issue preventing saving Favorite Plays after selecting a new Playbook Card.
  • Resolved an issue preventing instantly regenerated Exchanges from being available multiple times in the Duplicates menu.
  • Various visual improvements to Auction House menus.
  • Fixed a rare issue blocking progress during Welcome to MyTEAM Challenges.
  • Minor visual updates to Player Cards and other menus.

MyNBA / THE W:

  • Various stability fixes and improvements for MyNBA, MyNBA Online, and The W.
  • Resolved a progress blocker in MyNBA saves using Start Today when NBA Cup games were scheduled.
  • Fixed a hang when attempting league contraction to 18 teams.
