Step 1: Gather Your Resources

You'll need a substantial amount of blocks, so prepare to do some serious farming! Cobblestone and wood are popular choices due to their abundance and ease of acquisition.

Step 2: Choosing the Perfect Location

The sky's the limit (literally!) when it comes to mob farm placement. Ground-level builds are less effective, as mobs will spawn around you or in nearby caves.

Building your farm high above ensures mobs spawn only within its confines. Constructing it over water further enhances efficiency, as mobs won't spawn on water.

Build a platform approximately 100 blocks above a body of water. Add ladders for easy access. Place a chest and connect four hoppers to it, as shown in the image.

Step 3: Constructing the Main Tower

Build a tower around the hoppers, extending it 21 blocks high for XP farming or 22 blocks for an automatic farm. You can adjust the height later if needed. Place slabs atop the hoppers.

Step 4: Building the Water Trenches

Construct 7-block long, 2-block wide bridges on all four sides of the tower, topped with 2-block high walls. Place two water blocks at the end of each bridge. The water should stop at the bridge's edge, near the tower opening.

Step 5: Completing the Structure

Connect the water trenches to form a large square. The walls should be at least two blocks high to prevent mob spawning outside the farm. Now, fill in the structure, creating walls, floor, and roof.

Step 6: Adding Torches and Slabs

Boosting Your Mob Farm Efficiency

Connect a Nether Portal

A Nether portal provides a much quicker way to access your farm than ladders. A water elevator is another efficient alternative.

Adjustable XP/Auto-Farming

The 21-block height allows for XP farming (one-hit mobs), while 22 blocks results in instant mob death. Use pistons and a lever to easily switch between modes, or manually adjust the height.

Utilize Beds

Beds increase mob spawn rates. Place one near your farm to boost efficiency.

Prevent Spider Infestations

And there you have it—your very own Minecraft mob farm!
