Metal Gear Goes Green: Snake's Environmental Advocacy
Happy Snake Year! Metal Gear Solid voice actor, David Hayter, rings in 2025 – the Year of the Snake – with a special message. Discover what exciting developments await the Metal Gear franchise this year!
A Fortunate Convergence
David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, shared a New Year's greeting on Bluesky, highlighting the auspicious coincidence of 2025 being both the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac and the anticipated release year for a new Metal Gear installment. Hayter is set to reprise his iconic role as Solid Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake.
Konami also acknowledged this synchronicity with a celebratory YouTube video featuring taiko drummers and a calligraphy artist creating the kanji for "snake," culminating in a bold "SNAKE YEAR" announcement.
Since its May 2024 announcement, accompanied by a trailer and Tokyo Game Show demo, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has remained relatively quiet. However, producer Noriaki Okamura recently told 4Gamer that delivering a high-quality, polished game is their top priority for 2025.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the 2004 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, is slated for release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Expect next-gen enhancements, including the return of Phantom Pain mechanics, updated voice acting, and new dialogue from the original cast.
