Mask Around is the sequel to one of the strangest roguelikes of all time

Mask Around, the sequel to 2020's quirky roguelike platformer, Mask Up, is here! Prepare for a blend of intense running, gunning, and brawling action.

Returning from the original is the iconic yellow ooze, but with some surprising new twists. For those unfamiliar, Mask Up was a unique experience where you evolved from a simple puddle of goo into a powerful, gooey hero. Developer Rouli has once again delivered a dose of wonderfully weird gameplay with Mask Around.

Unlike its predecessor, which focused primarily on 2D brawling, Mask Around incorporates 2D shooting mechanics. You can seamlessly switch between gunning down enemies and using your goo-based abilities to smash your way through levels.

However, the precious yellow ooze remains a limited resource. Careful management is crucial, especially during challenging boss battles. Keep a close eye on that meter!

Mask Around is available now on Google Play. While an iOS release hasn't been announced yet, it's worth checking back for updates. Although I haven't played the original, Mask Around appears to be a significant improvement, expanding upon the original gameplay while retaining its charm. The enhanced graphics are a welcome addition.

The gameplay involves strategic use of both your ooze abilities and weaponry, adding a new layer of depth. It's no longer just about maintaining your goo supply; it's about knowing when to use it effectively.
