No Man's Sky: A Comprehensive Guide to Obtaining Solanium

Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to acquire Solanium through gathering, farming, and crafting.

Locating Solanium

Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium thrives on hot, arid planets. Before landing, scan potential planets from your ship to identify those with climates like Arid, Incandescent, Boiling, or Scorched. These planets typically list Solanium as a resource.

Once on the planet, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These are abundant in clusters. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While you're there, consider collecting Phosphorus deposits; they're crucial for Solanium crafting.

Farming Solanium

After completing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Use Hydroponic Trays or Bio-Domes, planting each vine with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. On hot planets, direct ground planting is an option.

Harvesting takes approximately 16 real-time hours.

Crafting Solanium

Several Refiner recipes produce Solanium, mostly using Phosphorus (often sourced from hot planets, or purchased from traders/Galactic Trade Terminals). Here's a list:

  • Solanium + Phosphorus (to create more Solanium)
  • Phosphorus + Oxygen
  • Phosphorus + Sulphurine
  • Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine

Note that all crafting methods, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
