No Man's Sky patch 5.50: everything you need to know

No Man's Sky, the expansive space exploration game, continues its impressive run of updates with the release of version 5.50, aptly titled "Worlds Part II." This substantial update introduces a massive array of changes, as highlighted in a new trailer showcasing improved lighting, breathtaking new biomes and landscapes, and fascinating deep-sea creatures.
The core world generation has undergone a significant overhaul. Players will now discover dramatically altered terrain, encountering majestic mountains, hidden valleys, and sprawling plains unlike anything seen before. The celestial map has also expanded, introducing a new class of star system: vast gas giants boasting dynamic and ever-changing atmospheric conditions. New environmental hazards add to the challenge, including toxic clouds, volcanic eruptions, thermal geysers, and radioactive fallout.
Exploration extends to the depths of the oceans, where players can now descend for miles, encountering bioluminescent life forms in the perpetual darkness of the abyssal plains. Sunlight's reach is limited, making coral formations vital navigation points in these alien underwater environments.
Beyond the new additions, existing gameplay mechanics have been refined. Inventory management has been improved with the addition of automatic sorting by name, type, value, or color. Fishing and marine life interactions have also been enhanced. Finally, a number of bugs have been addressed; the complete patch notes are available on the official No Man's Sky website.
