A Subtle Approach to Intimacy

The developers confirmed the existence of a feature representing intimacy between the in-game characters, aimed at procreation. However, they emphasized a suggestive rather than explicit approach. The visuals will leave the explicit details to the player's imagination, aiming for a balance between mature themes and broad accessibility. This differs significantly from the more overtly cartoonish depiction of similar mechanics in games like The Sims.

Technical Challenges and Artistic Choices

The decision for characters to shower with towels is attributed to technical limitations. The developers explained that pixelated blurring, effective in cartoony games, proved unsuitable for inZOI's more realistic art style. Attempts to use blurring resulted in unintended and overly suggestive outcomes. Furthermore, a bug during testing revealed uncensored reflections, highlighting the challenges in implementing such effects successfully.

Despite the mature themes, inZOI has received a T for Teen rating from the ESRB, similar to The Sims 4.
