HBO's acclaimed The Last of Us series is poised for a four-season run, according to an executive.

Francesca Orsi, an HBO executive, hinted at a four-season arc for the hit show, clarifying that while there's no finalized plan, a four-season trajectory is currently anticipated. "It's looking like this season and then two more seasons after this, and we're done," Orsi told Deadline.

Regarding the highly anticipated Season 2 premiere in April 2025, Orsi teased the introduction of compelling factions vying for survival. She highlighted their unique presentation, stating, "There's a certain way [the show] is presenting them in wardrobe and makeup that feels really different than the average person."

Those who missed Season 1 still have time to catch up before Season 2 premieres in April. Unlike the first season, which adapted the entirety of the first game, Season 2 will expand upon The Last of Us Part II, spanning multiple episodes with a planned "natural breakpoint" after seven episodes.

Season 2 will introduce several new characters, including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Tati Gabrielle as Mel. Catherine O'Hara's role remains shrouded in mystery.

IGN's review of Season 1 lauded the show as "a stunning adaptation," awarding it a 9/10 score.
