How to Use Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

Author : Camila Mar 14,2025

In the thrilling world of *Phasmophobia*, hunting down the most elusive ghosts often requires employing special Cursed Possessions—powerful but risky tools that can significantly aid your investigation. Among these, the Haunted Mirror stands out as a relatively safe yet incredibly useful item. This guide will show you how to harness its power.

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is arguably the safest Cursed Object in *Phasmophobia*, offering significant rewards that outweigh the risks. Its function remains consistent across game updates, making it a highly recommended item if you encounter it during an investigation.

Its primary benefit is revealing the ghost's current favorite room or area. By providing a panoramic view of that location, the Haunted Mirror drastically reduces search time, allowing you to strategically position your equipment before things get too dangerous. This is especially helpful in larger maps.

You'll typically find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall (like in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or lying on the floor in its predetermined location. Remember, Cursed Objects always spawn in the same spot on a map; the randomness lies in *which* Cursed Object appears.

To use it, simply pick up the mirror and interact with it using your designated button (mouse or controller). Its reflection will display the ghost's favored room. However, on Professional difficulty and above, be aware that the ghost's location might change after a while.

Use caution! Staring into the Haunted Mirror for extended periods drains your sanity. Moreover, holding it for the entire duration will shatter the mirror, instantly triggering a terrifying Cursed Hunt at your current location. Use it wisely when your sanity is high and you're prepared for what you might see.

Cursed Possessions, often called "Cursed Objects," are unique, randomly spawning items in *Phasmophobia* (spawn rates may vary based on difficulty and Challenge Mode). Unlike standard equipment, which provides evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts to manipulate the ghost, but at a significantly higher risk to your character's sanity and survival.

The risk level varies among Cursed Objects, leaving the decision of whether or not to use them to you and your team. There's no penalty for leaving them untouched. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).

Currently, seven Cursed Objects exist in the game:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
