Importantly, the demo features a different protagonist than the Nameless Hero; instead, players control a fellow prisoner from the Miners' Valley. The developers have meticulously recreated iconic elements while significantly upgrading the graphics.

Separately, THQ Nordic announced a public release of a free Gothic 1 Remake demo on February 24th. This demo, featuring Niras' prologue powered by Unreal Engine 5, will be a self-contained experience, not integrated into the main game. Players will explore the Colony as Niras, a convict, experiencing the world at their own pace.
