Freedom Wars Remastered: Boosting Your Combat Power
Quick Links
Each Abductor in Freedom Wars Remastered boasts a visible health bar on its torso. Players utilize various weapons and combat items to deplete this health, ultimately leading to victory. The game features diverse damage types, each with unique mechanics. While light melee weapons often sever specific body parts, Impact Damage plays a similar, crucial role in combat strategy.
Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedown speed. This guide explains Impact Damage's function and its effective use in Freedom Wars Remastered.
What Does Impact Damage Do In Freedom Wars Remastered?
Impact Damage primarily appears on Heavy Melee weapons and some Ranged Weapons. You'll often see a percentage alongside the Impact Damage value, but this doesn't directly increase your overall damage output. Instead, it represents non-elemental damage that boosts the force of your regular attacks, accelerating the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter results in the Abductor staggering, falling, or exhibiting unique reactions, creating an opportune moment to inflict substantial damage before recovery.
Unlike the readily visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden. The Abductor can stagger at any point once the rate reaches a threshold. This presents both advantages and disadvantages. Offline play allows for strategic attack charging and powerful hits. However, in online play, staggering an Abductor might hinder teammates' attacks. Some Abductors react uniquely to staggering—Ramosa, for instance, moves backward, potentially complicating precise hit placement.
How To Increase Stagger Damage In Freedom Wars Remastered
Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility allows weapon crafting and customization, offering various enhancement options. Within the facility, use the Manufacture Modules feature to create modules using gathered resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module requires Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. After acquiring the necessary materials, use the Synthesise Modules feature to combine identical modules for increased effectiveness. Attach the crafted module to your weapon to boost its Impact Damage and stagger capabilities.
Because Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements maximizes staggering efficiency. Modules like Stagger Damage Up are particularly valuable for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons naturally adept at building stagger.
