Forza Horizon 5 Is Coming to PS5
Forza Horizon 5 Speeds Onto PlayStation
Playground Games has made a surprising announcement: Forza Horizon 5, the acclaimed racing title, is making its way to the PlayStation 5 this spring. This marks another Xbox exclusive joining the PlayStation lineup, following titles like Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, the PS5 version will boast the same comprehensive content as its Xbox and PC counterparts. This includes all car packs and expansions, such as Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure.
This strategic move reflects Xbox's expanding interest in multi-platform releases, encompassing PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Xbox head Phil Spencer has publicly confirmed support for the upcoming Switch 2.
Recent financial reports from Microsoft shed light on this decision. While Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny achieved 4 million players and PC Game Pass saw a 30% growth, boosting services revenue by 2%, overall gaming revenue declined due to a near 30% drop in console sales. This downturn may be influencing Xbox's focus on Game Pass and broader platform reach.
Forza Horizon 5, a celebrated open-world racing game, offers a more arcade-style experience compared to its simulation-focused sibling, Forza Motorsport. Players can explore the vibrant landscapes of Mexico while engaging in thrilling races. [Link to full review]
