DOOM launched on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter

The DOOM community's ingenuity knows no bounds! Recently, NyanSatan achieved the seemingly impossible: running the classic DOOM on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter. This adapter, surprisingly, boasts its own iOS-based firmware and a processor clocking up to 168 MHz. NyanSatan accessed this firmware, leveraging a MacBook for memory (as the adapter lacks internal storage), and successfully launched the game.

A new DOOM iteration, DOOM: The Dark Ages, is also in the works, focusing heavily on accessibility. Players will have extensive customization options, allowing them to adjust enemy aggression, damage, projectile speed, and even the overall game tempo and parry timing. This level of customization surpasses previous id Software titles.

Executive producer Marty Stratton emphasizes the game's accessibility, confirming that prior DOOM experience isn't necessary to understand the plot of DOOM: The Dark Ages or its connection to DOOM: Eternal.
