While Halloween may be over, the *Diablo IV* Season of the Maelstrom has just begun! This guide provides a comprehensive strategy for rapid leveling in *Diablo IV* Season 7.

Acquire Your Pet

Upon starting *Diablo IV* Season 7, immediately visit the nearest town with a Wardrobe. Interact with it to claim your pet. While pets don't fight, they significantly expedite progress by automatically collecting gold and materials, freeing you to focus on combat and loot.

Recruit Your Mercenaries

If you own the *Vessel of Hatred* expansion, head to the Den and recruit mercenaries. Solo players can have two, easing leveling and combat while also building Rapport for additional rewards.

Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up

Beginning on Normal difficulty, diligently follow the Season 7 seasonal questline (marked by green leaf icons). This questline introduces new mechanics, including Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, and Witch powers. While not overly lengthy, it features puzzles and primarily involves farming Favors in Headhunt zones. This is also the most efficient method to reach level 60. Unlock Your Class Power

A helpful feature: prioritized class quests are skipped if completed on a previous character (requires logging in with that character on the Eternal realm first). For example, a new Season 7 Rogue will automatically unlock their class power upon reaching the required level if a Rogue with completed quests exists on the Eternal realm.

Conquer Headhunt Zones

While in Headhunt zones, actively complete Whispers. Four zones are always active; prioritize smaller, denser zones for faster mob farming and Whisper completion. Focus on these Whisper quests: Fugitive Shepherd (escort animals) and Fugitive (recover a head or destroy a husk, triggered by defeating Elites and interacting with roots). Exchange 10 Grim Favors for a cache at the Tree of Whispers (or with the Raven of the Tree found in each Headhunt zone).

Harness Witchcraft Powers

At the Tree of Whispers, use Altars of Witchcraft to purchase and upgrade Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot (obtained by killing Rot enemies). Prioritize damage-boosting powers. Some powers require interacting with Forgotten Altars (found in dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds at Torment 1 or higher, or by using a Draught of Whispers).

Explore Rootholds

Rootholds (accessed with Whispering Woods from Whispers and Silent Chests) are rogue-lite dungeons offering modifiable difficulty and loot quality. Open Exposed Roots for loot. Save Roothold keys for Torment 1 for optimal Ancestral loot.

Utilize Occult Gems

Craft Occult Gems (from Gelena at the Tree of Whispers) for jewelry slots; they outperform regular gems. Note that they are expensive, requiring significant Restless Rot and Heads (dropped by Roothold bosses and Fugitives; increased chance with Draught of Whispers).

Master Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons

Continue utilizing Pits (for Glyph leveling), Nightmare Dungeons (for Glyphs), and Infernal Hordes (for masterworking materials for Uniques).
