World of Warcraft: The War Within - Patch 11.1 Prologue and Dalaran Epilogue Guide

The narrative of World of Warcraft: The War Within continues to unfold. Beyond the Siren Isle update, Season 2 (anticipated for late 2025) promises new endgame content and the next chapter of this expansion. However, Patch 11.0.7 introduces crucial story quests paving the way for Patch 11.1, focusing on the Goblin capital, Undermine. A separate questline concludes the tragic destruction of Dalaran, but this wasn't immediately available upon patch launch.

Updated January 7, 2025: The recent campaign quests mark a significant turning point. Dalaran, a long-standing Warcraft location, may never fully recover from the events of The War Within. The Dalaran Epilogue provides closure to this storyline and a fitting farewell to a pivotal social hub in Wrath of the Lich King and Legion.

How to Begin the Patch 11.1 Prologue ("Lingering Shadows" Campaign)

Unlike the Dalaran Epilogue, the "Lingering Shadows" campaign is immediately accessible. Completion of the leveling or Level 80 campaigns isn't required. However, completing prior storylines is recommended to avoid spoilers and enhance understanding. The campaign includes:

How to Begin the Dalaran Epilogue in World of Warcraft: The War Within

Initially, a three-week delay was in place. As of January 7th, 2025, this restriction has been lifted. To unlock this campaign, you must complete both The War Within leveling campaign and the Level 80 campaign (requiring Renown Four with all four Khaz'algar factions).

If unsure of your progress, visit Foundation Hall (where Patch 11.1 prologue quests begin). If Khadgar is present (after January 7th), you can receive his quest. His absence indicates unfinished campaign quests. The Dalaran Epilogue questline is:
