Locating the Rime Beetle

Following Samin's clue, your search begins in the Iceshard Cliffs. Unlike other hunts, waypoints won't lead you directly to the Rime Beetle. Instead, rely on keen observation and a bit of luck. These creatures create distinctive snowballs, easily spotted in snowy areas.

Focus your search on Iceshard Cliffs Areas 2, 7, 8, 11, and 13. Scan the snow-covered terrain; the telltale snowballs will give away the Rime Beetle's location. Follow any visible tracks in the snow for additional clues.

Capturing the Rime Beetle

Capture, not collection, is the goal. Equip your Capture Net (accessible via L1/LB). Aim (L2/LT) at the Rime Beetle until the reticle turns orange, then fire.
