Burglars Return to The Sims 4

Ten years of Sim tranquility ends as burglars return to the virtual world! The Sims 4 developers recently announced a highly anticipated (though perhaps not universally welcomed) update: the return of burglaries.

The familiar methods of defense remain: installing an alarm system will summon the police to apprehend the thief. Skilled Sims can enhance the alarm system for improved reliability and automatic police alerts. Alternatively, players can try calling the police directly or, if feeling bold, attempt to befriend the burglar.

For those with expansion packs, more creative solutions exist. Players can unleash their pets, or deploy the unique abilities of spellcasters, vampires, or werewolves against the intruder. A specialized freeze ray also provides an option for technologically inclined Sims. These unconventional methods, however, require the purchase of relevant expansion packs.

Importantly, this burglar update is a free addition to The Sims 4.
