Batman Game Rumored in Development at Rocksteady
Reputable gaming journalist Jason Schreier reports that the celebrated Rocksteady Studios is developing a new, single-player Batman game.
Specifics remain limited; Schreier hasn't confirmed if it's a prequel, a sequel to the Arkham series, or a completely separate title. However, a source suggests Rocksteady is creating a Batman Beyond game, transporting players to a futuristic Gotham City. The goal? A full trilogy. Release is anticipated on next-generation consoles.

The Arkham series was lauded for its stunning graphics, and a futuristic Gotham could be Rocksteady's most visually impressive project yet. The Batman Beyond setting also addresses a significant challenge: the voice of Batman. Following the passing of Kevin Conroy in 2022, the studio might focus on Terry McGinnis or Damian Wayne, echoing Warner Bros. Montreal's plans for a canceled Batman: Arkham Knight sequel.
Rocksteady's previous endeavor, an online shooter, underperformed, leading to the cancellation of post-launch content within a year. The narrative concluded with a rushed animated sequence that retconned controversial plot points, revealing certain fallen heroes to be clones.
Rocksteady is now returning to its strengths, developing a new solo Batman experience. However, sources suggest the game is still several years from release.
