Is Avowed Multiplayer? Answered
Avowed: A Solo Fantasy Adventure – No Multiplayer Planned
Avowed has been compared to both Skyrim and Obsidian's own The Outer Worlds. While it offers a rich fantasy world and companions to aid your journey, these companions are non-player characters (NPCs). Contrary to some initial expectations, Avowed does not feature any form of multiplayer: no co-op, no PvP, and no invasion mechanics.

Initially, Obsidian Entertainment did intend to include co-op functionality. However, this plan was scrapped during development, with the studio citing a decision to focus their efforts elsewhere. While co-op was initially used as a marketing point, the final product remains a single-player experience. There are currently no plans for post-launch addition of multiplayer features.
The possibility of a community-created co-op mod exists, though none have yet emerged. Even if one were developed, the complexity of such an undertaking should be considered. Similar mods for other games, such as Skyrim's co-op mod, often appear long after the game's initial release.
In short: Avowed is a single-player game, and will remain so.
