Kai: Meet Kai, a formidable ex-mercenary with a surprisingly tender heart. Encountered early in Dawnshore, near Paradis, Kai joins your party after assisting you in finding the Ambassador and Cleric. A tank-like combatant, Kai inflicts significant damage and boasts impressive survivability. His fire abilities prove invaluable for clearing obstacles and uncovering hidden treasures.

Kai's upgradable abilities include:

• Fire and Ire (Active): A powerful blunderbuss shot that stuns and taunts a single enemy.
• Unbending Defense (Active): Regenerates health and significantly reduces incoming damage.
• Leap of Daring (Active): A powerful leap that stuns and taunts nearby enemies.
• Second Win (Passive): Revives Kai with 50% health upon death.

Marius: Marius, a skilled hunter and tracker with a shared history with Kai, awaits you in a Dawnshore tavern. His recruitment involves either a peaceful conversation or a brawl with troublesome NPCs. Marius' expertise shines through his abilities, enhancing both exploration and combat. His Hunter Sense helps locate loot and crafting materials, while his bow, daggers, and nature-bending abilities make him a versatile fighter.

Marius' upgradable abilities include:

• Binding Roots (Active): Roots an enemy in place.
• Heart Seeker (Active): A piercing shot that ignores obstacles.
• Shadow Step (Active): A triple-attack maneuver involving stealth and daggers.
• Wounding Shots (Passive): Inflicts bleeding on enemies.

Giatta: Found later in the Emerald Stair region's Fior settlement, Giatta is an animancer whose magic plays a crucial role in the main quest. Giatta excels in support, healing, shielding, and buffing allies. Her Spectral Jolt ability activates Essence Generators, revealing hidden pathways and loot.

Giatta's upgradable abilities include:

Yatzli: The final companion, Yatzli, joins your party during a main quest in Thirdborn, within the Shatterscarp region. A damage-dealing mage, Yatzli’s spells excel at both single-target and area-of-effect attacks, and also at clearing environmental obstacles.

Yatzli's upgradable abilities include:

• Essence Explosion (Active): An explosive arcane attack.
• Minoletta’s Missile Battery (Active): A volley of homing arcane missiles.
• Arduos Delay of Motion (Active): Slows an enemy.
