Little Bee

The Kiwanis Club of New Kingston (KCNK) is thrilled to present the KCNK Little Bee Game, a fun and educational spelling app perfect for kids aged 4 to 9. Sponsored by Grace Kennedy Money Services (GKMS) and Western Union (WU), this app is designed to help young learners master spelling in an engaging way, and it's accessible offline, so the learning never has to stop!

The app features three exciting modes: Learning Mode 1, Learning Mode 2, and Competition Mode, each with 10 progressive levels containing 15 or more words. Whether at home or on the go, children can dive into the world of spelling without needing an internet connection.

Learning Mode 1:

In this mode, students learn to spell by tapping each letter of a word in sequence, from left to right. The app audibly pronounces each letter, helping kids learn through repetition. If a mistake is made, it's easy to correct by tapping the error. For a word replay, just tap the little bee icon in the top left corner. To advance, students must spell each word correctly before moving on to the next, with the ability to retry any level at any time.

Learning Mode 2:

Here, the challenge increases as students are presented with jumbled letters. They must correctly arrange them to spell the word. Like in Mode 1, mistakes can be undone with a tap, and the word can be replayed by tapping the bee icon. Success in spelling each word correctly is needed to progress through the levels.

Competition Mode:

This mode adds an element of excitement with a timed challenge. Students face jumbled letters plus extra distractors and must spell 10 random words from the level's pool as quickly as possible. The time taken for each word contributes to the total level time, with results displayed on the leaderboard. It's all about speed and accuracy here!

Students can personalize their experience by entering their name, age, parish, and school in the settings. They can reset the game anytime they wish to start afresh. To capture their progress, students and parents can take screenshots of the leaderboard to share with teachers.
