Geo Tracker allows you to view your tracks and the surrounding landscapes using maps from OSM or Google, as well as satellite imagery from Google or Mapbox. This ensures you have the most comprehensive view of the area, regardless of where you are in the world. The maps you explore are saved to your device for offline use, particularly effective with OSM maps and Mapbox satellite images. To track your journey and gather statistics, all you need is a GPS signal; internet is only necessary for downloading map images.

When driving, activate navigation mode to have the map automatically align with your direction of travel, making navigation much more intuitive.

The app can continue recording your tracks in the background. Note that this feature might require specific system settings adjustments on some devices (instructions are provided within the app). Background mode is optimized for power efficiency, typically allowing a full day of recording on a single charge. You can also enable an economy mode in the app settings to further conserve battery life.

Geo Tracker offers detailed statistics on your trips, including:

• Total distance traveled and duration;
• Maximum and average speed;
• Time spent in motion and average moving speed;
• Minimum and maximum altitude, as well as elevation gain;
• Vertical distance, ascent, and climbing speed;
• Minimum, maximum, and average slope.

Tracks recorded by Geo Tracker can be saved in GPX, KML, or KMZ formats, making them compatible with popular applications like Google Earth and Ozi Explorer. Your tracks remain stored locally on your device and are never sent to external servers.

To enhance your GPS tracking experience and address common issues, consider these useful tips:

• Allow some time for the GPS signal to be acquired before starting your tracking session.
• Restart your smartphone and ensure an unobstructed view of the sky (avoid tall buildings, dense forests, etc.).
• Be mindful that GPS reception can vary due to weather, seasonal changes, satellite positioning, areas with poor coverage, and obstructions like buildings and forests.
• Enable "Location" in your phone settings.
• Set "Date & Time" to automatic in your phone settings, including "Automatic time zone," as incorrect time settings can delay GPS signal acquisition.
• Ensure airplane mode is turned off in your phone settings.

If these tips do not resolve your issues, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the app.

Note that Google Maps enhances location accuracy by integrating GPS data with additional information from surrounding Wi-Fi networks and/or mobile networks.
