Essential Gameplay Overview

The deal distributes 13 cards to each of four players. Through competitive bidding, players declare how many tricks (beyond six) their partnership can take using a specified trump suit or no trumps. The highest bid becomes the contract.

After the opening lead, the dummy's hand is revealed, allowing the declarer to play both their cards and the dummy's. Partnerships work to fulfill their contract or prevent opponents from succeeding. Scoring combines contract points for successful bids and penalty points for failures, with the rubber going to the first team winning two games (100+ contract points each).
